I am a specialist colorectal surgeon, diagnosing and treating patients with diseases of the large bowel (colon, rectum & anus). I have a special interest in treating cancer of the large bowel, diseases of the anus such as haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulae as well as functional disorders of defaecation. I perform both diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy. I introduced sacral nerve modulation to the Trust and was instrumental in establishing the pelvic floor service
I lead the colorectal cancer service, one of the biggest in the UK. I am a member of the Court of Examiners and the Invited Review Mechanism of the Royal College of Surgeon's. I chair the independent health committee of the Association of Coloproctology and sit on council.
